Getting In the Gap
The book is great, but it’s the meditation that I’m really recommending. This meditation was a turning point for my early meditation journey, by clearly demonstrating what the “void” feels like. The void is where you want to be in meditation, to let all other chatter go and relax into nothing. Thankfully, Dr. Dyer gives you a kind of a map here, and you can buy it on Amazon to experience for yourself.
Becoming Supernatural
Dr. Joe Dispenza is one of my favorite teachers and one of the few that explains the science behind meditation and its impact on the physical. He is currently conducting clinical research on the exact changes that meditation can induce in the body. While Becoming Supernatural is the latest of his books, I also recommend You Are the Placebo and Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. (Contains links for purchase.) And if you still want to know more, go check out Dr. Joe’s website that offers retreats and online courses.
The Biology of Belief
Dr. Bruce Lipton is a traditional cell biologist who went rogue after discovering the link between belief and cell behavior. The book documents how he discovered that cells simply execute what is being programmed into the field by the mind. While this volume does not give much of the “how-to”s, it is a fascinating read on understanding what happens at the cellular level. You may want to “sweet talk” to your cells after reading this book. I know I did! You can purchase the book on Amazon here.

The Holographic Universe
Okay. I’ve had to read this book a couple of times and read sections over and over in order to understand some of the complex concepts. And… I still need more time. But it is a fascinating framework to understand the universe and how/why we experience it as we do, and more importantly, how we can use this knowledge to our advantage. It is a mind-bender, for sure, but you will feel exponentially smarter and proud of yourself for even trying to understand. I know I do! Snag a copy on Amazon here or listen to it on Audible!

The Dark Side of the Light Chasers
Working on your shadow side can be scary. Your shadow is an aspect that you cannot see but are rejecting, but constantly coming up–usually in a dark, triggering way–for light. Because our soul is always reaching for wholeness. It is SO tricky to recognize the shadow because you’re usually so in it. But when you do, it can be the door to tremendous freedom and personal empowerment.
Many traditions address the shadow and how to claim them. But Ford’s book on the subject is perhaps the most accessible resource for beginners. The book also provides many practices to make actual changes. The reward is more wholeness and peace within yourself. Check it out on Amazon!
